Meet the Team
Jon De Jong grew up in NW Iowa on a small family pig farm, which is where his passion for the industry began. Jon attended SDSU for his B.S. in animal science and spent 2 summers working for an integrated swine operation in southern MN. In order to broaden his understanding of the industry, Jon continued his education at KSU where he obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in Swine Nutrition. Jon started with Pipestone almost 2 years ago as a nutritionist. In his current role Jon coordinates new research, helps farmer operated feed mills, and formulates diets for both the growing pigs and the sows for Pipestone. Jon lives in Luverne MN with his beautiful bride of 5 years Karis, and their 2 kids Brooks (2) and Adaline (1).
A farm boy from Kansas, Casey holds a degree from Kansas State University with a master’s in Swine Nutrition. Casey’s past portfolio includes heading nutrition and diet implementation for a major midwest integrator, Christensen Farms as well as the role of head nutritionist for PIC, the world’s largest swine genetic supplier. Not only is Casey at the top of the field domestically, but he has also consulted for customers in 18 different countries giving him valuable international experience as well. He was recently honored to receive the Outstanding Agribusiness Award during the Midwest Animal Science meetings in March 2016 in addition to other numerous accolades.
Chad came to Pipestone Grow Finish in 2015 with extensive experience in wean to finish pork production. After graduating from Iowa State University with a BS in Animal Science, Chad worked for Iowa Select as a Research Farm Manager, Nebraska Pork Partners as their Director of Wean to Finish Production, and for The Mashhoffs as a Senior Field Advisor. Chad currently serves as the Director of Field Production for Pipestone Grow Finish, a quickly growing segment of the PGF service offering. He lives in Northwest Iowa with his wife and four beautiful daughters.
Nick grew up on a small family farm in eastern Iowa where his passion for livestock developed. That desire led him to Iowa State University where he earned Bachelor’s in 2005. Nick’s portfolio includes key account management for Cargill Pork as well as Business Development for a large family owned pork producer, The Maschhoffs. At Pipestone, Nick leads the Business Development efforts for our clients and he specializes in grow-finish consulting, finishing barn design, sourcing space for shareholder growth, and client relations. Recently, Nick has been active with NPPC and the Pork Leadership Institute. He lives in West Branch, IA with his wife and two daughters and enjoys being active on the family farm.
Being raised on a family farm in North Central Iowa, and a childhood love of 4-H led Angie to pursue a degree in Animal Science from Iowa State. She joined Pipestone Grow Finish in 2012 as an account specialist. Today, Angie is the Director of Records and Information for both Pipestone Grow Finish and Pipestone System. Her passion for accurate and timely data collection and analysis drives her towards constant improvement for PGF clients and Pipestone System shareholders. Angie lives in Pipestone, MN with her husband and three children where they enjoy spending time on the family’s show pig project and attending baseball games.
After growing up on a diversified family farm near Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Jenna knew she wanted to work for producers similar to her family owned operation. She attended South Dakota State University and attained her B.S. in Animal Science. Jenna has proved herself early and often within PGF. She started as a data technician and now is our Head Account Manager. Jenna works hand in hand with all of our clients and feed mills to ensure proper diet implementation, client relations, and any special projects within PGF. Her patient and understanding demeanor with clients and vast knowledge of the distribution chain is an invaluable piece of Pipestone Grow Finish Nutrition.
